About Us

The Guardian Group “Keep It Alive” 5K Night Run is a corporate charity race event held annually to raise funds in aid of Jamaica’s health care sector. The event is hosted by the Guardian Group Foundation, the non-profit arm of Guardian Life Limited.

The inaugural Guardian Group “Keep It Alive” 5K Night Run was held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 in New Kingston with a record number of over 6000 participants for a first-time night run.

In 2015, the event evolved into a double night run, with one in the capital Kingston and one in the second city of Montego Bay.

The Guardian Group “Keep It Alive” 5K Night Run is the Foundation’s flagship charity event and the primary focus of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

The Guardian Group Foundation recognizes that chronic non-communicable diseases (diabetes, hypertension, cancer and heart disease) are exacting a heavy human and economic cost on our country, and in choosing health promotion as our broader CSR focus; we are:

  • Investing in the health and wellness of the people of Jamaica and helping to promote health sustainability
  • Strategically aligning our CSR program to the core values of our lines of business, which is centered on making wise lifestyle choices.
  • Fulfilling our role as a socially responsible corporate citizen in accordance to our core values and principles

The Guardian Group Foundation is committed to fostering a healthier Jamaica through the promotion of a healthier lifestyle, which encompasses physical, emotional, spiritual and financial wellness. We are true to our health mantra of Live Well. Live Easy.
